Tatiana's story

Tatiana was born in October of 2000 in Angarsk, Siberia, Russia. For reasons unknown to us she was placed in the care of an orphanage at the time of her birth. Since that time she has waited for a family to care for and love her. We began our "official" journey to Tatiana in August 2003. I write "official" as there are so many things that have happened before this time that it is difficult to say when our journey to her actually began. In January of 2004 Kevin and I traveled to Russia to meet Tatiana and this week on July 29 we will return to Russia to stand in front of the judge in Irkutsk to testify that we wish to be her parents. We pray that the judge will see it is a wise decision to let us care for and love Tatiana for the rest of our lives. Kevin will return to Michigan on August 10 to work and care for Caleb and Jared, our sons. Due to a 10 day waiting period (imposed after all civil hearings in Russia) Tatiana and I will remain in Russia until August 25. We hope that through this log we are able to share with you our experiences over the next months. We also hope to document for Tatiana her journey into our family and into our hearts. -Melanie
