Our last day in Irkutsk
Today is finally our last day in Irkutsk...we will leave tomorrow morning at 9am to travel to Moscow. While we are in Moscow Tatiana will have a medical exam and will receive her visa to travel to the US. We will leave Moscow on the morning of the 25th and travel for around 24 hours. We will get to Grand Rapids the evening of the 25th.
I am excited to be another step closer to home... to Jared, Caleb and Kevin... and to finally show Tatiana her home. We will spend our last day here preparing to leave and we will visit the playground one more time. The flight to Moscow is five hours long...I am hoping that Tatiana will do well on the flight!
Tomorrow I will not be able to post on the blog until the evening...( I typically post in the morning) I am told that there is internet access at the hotel we are staying in!---So that's all from Irkutsk we are off to Moscow!--Melanie

Melanie and Tatiana, We love to read your journals, there is so much joy and love in them. We loved to hear what Tatiana thoughts were. We are so deeply touched by her wonders and thoughts. What a beautiful child inside and out. Loved the picture of you three.We are so excited for you both to be home with Kevin, Jared and Caleb! Hope your flight to Moscow goes well and your stay there goes smoothly. Out thoughts and prayers will be with you while you are in Moscow. Please give Tatiana a hug and a kiss from all of us. Safe travels to Moscow. We cannot wait for you both to get home. The computer terminal is in the courtyard area on the 4th floor where they most likely will give you a room with the other adoptive families. We love you all very much. Kevin, Caleb, and Jared.
Dear Melanie,
It is so beautiful to hear of your love for your daughter. I was moved to hear her thoughts about being mad and sad while you were gone, because it shows that she is really attached to you and that is a gift that will make all of this easier. It also shows that she understands that Mommas and Poppas are supposed to stay around and love their children, another really important part of development. So take it as good news! It means she loves you and wants to be with you.
My classes start again on Aug 25, but know that I would rather be at the airport!
